The very last bit of August

Here's the last bit of August before I start with September's feed -

Tonkichi Japanese Restaurant @ Orchard Central to fill the hungry bellies on a Saturday night . Ramen was not impressive at all . Fact is that I've been making bad meal choices recently . Bryan's Saba fish set was as good as it looks thou Tonkichi's specialities are their Tonkatsu .

Aftermath - Jones the grocer [ Dempsey ] , Coffee , Cake
The only time I thought a red velvet cake would fall short is this . I've tried many red velvet cakes before  and  though there might always be some hits and misses , none was as bad as this .  The cream cheese was too sweet for my liking , [ fine , I could live with that . I do not expect good red velvet cakes everywhere right ? ] but they served me a slice that was melting and obviously been out of the fridge for a long time . Even the best tasting cakes would have lost the delectable taste if it's been left at room temperature for a long time . Kinda disappointing but their coffee made up for it .

Been on a Jap food craving streak recently so it was dinner at Chiso Zanmai after work on a thursday . One of the cheapest Japanese buffet with a wide range of different salmon sashimi served . The girlfriend thinks the choices are limited because she doesn't eat raw / matcha . So I helped her eat her share's worth of raw salmon and matcha desserts . Our pig-out night ended after a 3 hour long dinner !

On a side note , I cant believe its September already . September is gonna burn my pockets a huge hole because mommy and daddy's birthday happen to be days apart this month . And soon later , it'll be my favourite Mid-Autumn festival which I prefer calling it Moon-cake festival since I'm always seen binge eating on Moon cakes . And if you don't already know , I love buying moon cakes as gifts for my love ones . Moon cakes are so expensive nowadays , so that's another burn in my pocket . Oh , and how can I not get excited because its always a tradition to celebrate mid-autumn with my bestfriends every single year . I srsly don't know when will we ever get sick of playing candles . We're 21 this year , tell me about it . Happy September , everyone !

love,
Sheryl
