Life on Sundays , lately

Some few weeks ago , The boyfriend took me out for brunch at Rider's cafe . It was after so much procrastination due to the the distance from our home . But since we usually had time to spare on Sundays , we thought we should just go , without reservations . We were prepared to wait and was told that the waiting time was approx 45mins -1 hr . Thankfully , I wasn't cranky about the wait and Rider's was kind enough to make my wait only 15 minutes before we got a table !

The weather was so unbelievably humid but the cafe made it comfortable with the strong fans yet allowing sunlight to shine in . Thats no wonder why many Singaporeans highly rave this cafe especially with the surroundings of nothing but greenery and stables . We ordered 1) Pacific Benedict with shrimp hollandaise 2) Riders Burger with seasoned fries . Both were equally good imo , in fact I loved them . They were very generous with the crabmeat and spinach for my benedict , I was completely sold .
This is currently , my favorite brunch cafe .

The following Sunday , I successfully bugged Bryan and his friends to brunch at Riders again . I was acting like a total drug addict , whining the entire week and finding chances to go again . This time , I made reservations asking for the balcony seats !
Orders : 1) Brioche french toast with fresh berries & vanilla mascarpone 2) Blackstone benedict ( I think so , lynx is that right ? ) 3) " The usual " with eggs , smoked bacon , breakfast banger , mushrooms , tomato & sourdough 4) Almond Granola crusted fried chicken with creamy polenta and buttered spinach 5) Death by chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream

I had the same pacific benedict , to curb the craving . And when Bryan's fried chicken was served , I told him I wanted all his buttered spinach but he actually finished all of them up . He was being very mean but well , I guess that means he loved it . Oh , and everybody in the reviews swear by the chocolate cake , apparently to-die-for so we thought we should try . Maybe I just didn't like that it was chocolate but it was nottttt bad . Thou the dessert portion was huge and made for sharing , we still had difficulty finishing it .

Coincidentally lucky that Bukit Timah Saddle club was having an annual funfair with admission to stables allowed that day so we spent the entire afternoon , stable hoping and entertained by the many activities lined up . The members / horse owners were mostly Caucasians so for a moment , I thought I was in Australia sans the air ticket and jet lag . One of the segment was dress up competition and we definitely had fun seeing the horses drenched in pink paint , fairy wings , braided mane , fanciful costumes . My Sunday was complete , with the fun fair experience while spending quality time with the love ones .

love,
sheryl
