☁ Taipei 台北日记 2015 (Vol 0.2)

→→→ 上引水产 Addiction Aquatic Development

A complete heaven-on-earth for the seafood lovers, THIS is definitely the place to go. It was in the itinerary on my previous trip with Bryan but due to the inconvenient location, we thought it was okay to skip. But now that I've been there and seen the hype myself, it was definitely NOT OKAY to have given this place a miss.

Addiction Aquatic Development's concept is pretty much like Singapore's Pasarbella (read here!). The only difference is that Singapore's rendition sells quality produce at a steeper price but in Taiwan, you get the bang for your buck with a wider variety of fresh produce!

Live Seafood Market
After getting your hands sanitized at the door, you'd be walking into the inviting atmosphere of an extraordinary fish market. With no pungent smell or wet floor, you can hunt down your live seafood in a comfortable clean environment. I guess this section would be more for the locals who'd be purchasing live seafood home. But for tourists like ourselves, it was also an eye-opening experience!

Grocery Lanes
Another huge section was lanes after lanes of pre-packed products - Sashimi bowls, Assorted pan fried meat, Hot Japanese dishes, they even have macaroons sold in boxes! When I walked into the sashimi lane, I was completely stoked to see an entire section displaying my favourite sea urchin(uni)! We picked the smallest pack that would be suffice to feed two hungry bellies and went off to hunt for more food!

Restaurant Bars
Think they have a couple of food bars in the premise itself but they were quite crowded close to lunch time and the menu was in chinese so I gave up trying to understand them. We did walk by one restaurant bar that was selling seafood sets at approx. 1600NT. The set included oysters, crabs, lobsters and more which we thought was really worth the money and we were caught in a dilemma if we should order one as well. But we were also really reluctant to give up what we picked out in our baskets so we gave it a miss :<

Food Haul
#Gluttonlunch painstakingly picked out by us. It was such a variety we were spoilt with but with only two mouths, there were only so much that we could buy.  Cant remember the exact price for this glorious meal but it was approx. 1200NT/SGD$50! Just look at the generous portion for the Uni, Salmon Sashimi and the Chirashi don, I'm terribly missing this meal already.
