11 February'15 | Our 4th Anniversary

Amazing how we turned 4 in a blink of an eye. This year we'd be celebrating our last anniversary as singles before we move on to the phase of officially celebrating wedding anniversaries in future. Initially, we already planned to celebrate both our anniversary & valentine's day in KL since it is just days apart. But coincidentally, RWS offered a complimentary stay during this time and so we ended up staying with Equarius Hotel again.

I went over after work and walked into the surprise that le fiancé planned!

So cheesy, I cannot even! He's a hopelessly romantic person while I'm the kind who cringes at the slightest cheesiness. Thankfully he doesn't do this all the time so I learn to appreciate the once in a blue moon surprises. He also learns that I'm very anal when it comes to receiving flowers because they're really overpriced most of the time. So he actually went to the market to get those roses and arranged the petals himself, leaving 3 leftover stalks for me. Okay, I approve.

Happy 4th (dating) Anniversary to us! ♥

Did brunch at quayside after lazing in bed till noon. I decided that we have Spanish cuisine since we haven't tried it before. The food was amazing albeit the small portions served. It is quite understandable for the petite portions though because Spanish cuisines focus on mainly tapas dishes. I guess my favorite of the meal would be the Spanish doughnuts, Churros! Crispy sticks of flour coated with cinnamon, dipped into hot chocolate sauce --- genius invention! It is Churros for me, anytime.

Twenty t h i r d | 벨라 의 생일

On my birthday weekend, I got whisked away for a staycation at Equarius hotel. It came in timely because I really needed a break from the monotonous work days. Since the last time here about a year ago, I'd been missing the fluffy pillows and bubble baths in this posh hotel!

So after checking in, I was being dragged out of comfort for a coffee date at quayside Sentosa. The fiancé made reservations at Kith cafe for high tea and being oblivious to whatever he was up to, I ordered a main because I was so damn hungry. The Parma ham & mushroom linguine was an absolute right choice although I know I said tea break. Their truffle fries are the worse I ever had so don't try. I never really liked thick cut fries to begin with and it was made worse without even a tinge of truffle oil tasted.

When we got back to the room, I was surprised with a table of my favourite munch & a bunch of crazy friends hiding behind the curtains! So high tea at kith cafe was actually a lure away for a bigger surprise! Really thankful for these friends who took time out to be part of my birthday and of course the man behind everything, thank you B. Also Qianhui got a salted caramel rainbow cake for my twenty third, nyam nyam! It was not just a rainbow cake that looked good, it was so yummy that I refused to share.

Waking up in Sentosa is like a true sanctuary to me. Drawing aside the curtains to a landscape of vibrant colours, I wished I didn't have to leave the room. But with food as an exception, we left for an impromptu lunch buffet at Ban Heng restaurant! I definitely had a food coma weekend stuffing myself silly with the heavy meals, not to mention with so much snacks in between.

We spent the afternoon back in the room with everybody crashing on an afternoon nap, while I stayed at the balcony with my cuppa coffee and books. Lazing my time away like it was a true holiday, it was dinner time before we know it. We did dinner at TCC keppel bay with the same steady clique and we choked up the bill to a whopping S$400! One of the rare times where we'd splurge on dinners so thank you everybody for the extravagance on my birthday.

Well, it was really hard to say goodbye to the short lived luxury. But I am lucky enough for all these little blessings and definitely looking to stay on another significant occasion soon! Till then, Equarius hotel!

ღ Cassandra's bachelorette party

Some long time back, I was tasked to plan for Cassandra's Bachelorette party. #woesofabridesmaid

It is actually really easy to plan for a party, if there is NO budget constraint. All you need to do is to buy everything you need, order catering food and It becomes a party! But what if the bridesmaids have a strict budget to stick to? Here's our hens party on a budget.

VENUE | Royal Plaza On Scotts
I was initially quite lost at the wide selection of hotels in Singapore. Most hotels are so pretty, where do I even start? I eventually picked Royal Plaza on Scotts and it was seriously a right decision to make.

☑ Fantastic Location | It was so tough to get everybody together because the bridesmaid team had different schedules individually. Some could only come after work so I thought Orchard was the best location to settle our dinner.
☑ Room size | 32sqm was a decent size for 6 girls to move about. I've also considered chic boutique hotels as an option but most boutique hotels have a space issue of only 15-25sqm.
☑ Room rates | I scored a night stay in the heart of Orchard road at only S$230! (taxes included)

I remembered waking up as early as 8am on that Saturday morning, lugging big bags to run errands in Town at 10am (I still cannot believe this) and reaching the hotel all exhausted and shabby looking. Lingy who was with me, zoned out at the sofa while waiting for me to check-in. We were thattt worn out.

* UPGRADED! We got upgraded to the Royal Club Premiere room which means more luxury for the girly stay!

FOOD | Dessert table DIY
What if your party size is too small for minimum orders? You do it yourself! I wanted a cosy event so instead of going out for high tea, I brought the tea spread into our room for privacy. Recently, there'd been the hype of candy buffets going on but I don't really like sweets so we did a dessert buffet instead.

Vendors of most of our tea spread:
Bakers World | 15-8 Jalan Riang Singapore 358987 Tel: 61007107
Mini One by Donq | Takashimaya Food Hall B2

High tea / Evening cocktail
Many perks were thrown in after we got upgraded and since we had access to club lounge, we went up to hang out while waiting for the rest to come over. Stuffed ourselves silly with the small bites till we hit food coma even before dinner time. But why would I say no to smoked salmon right?

Hen's Night Activities
#1- How well do you know the bride? I came up with the questions and whoever's answer is different from the bride's, must drink.
#2 - Drink IF. Made our set of drinking play cards (Cassandra's version).
#3 - Well wishes card. Not a game, this was specially made for Cassandra's keepsake.

Sunday Brunch buffet - Carousel
Brunch buffet after checking-out the next day! So the main reason why I booked Royal Plaza was also for the convenience of having Carousel around. My first time at this highly raved Halal buffet restaurant and it was as good as it was spoken of! I was completely obsessed with their fondue colours and had many servings of rose fondue fruits to myself. #gluttongirlfriendsatwork

Too many backlogs and by the time I'm writing this, Cassandra is already a MRS.
Congratulations darling and have a blessed marriage with Mr Ku!

Equarius Hotel // DAY2 + Forest Sunday Brunch

▲ Woke up to a very excited boyfriend wanting to take a dip in the pool . So we did , before checking out . Our hungry tummies were settled at Forest 森 just right at the lobby of Equarius Hotel . Their Sunday brunch buffet priced at $58/++ was such a great deal considering that it is famous Sam Leong's celebrity restaurant . Coincidentally , I had a huge craving for seafood that day so it was just the right time to indulge in a buffet . I loved their chilled crabs and thick salmon sashimi cuts , it was so fresh and the crab meat was so succulent ! Would kill for a seafood buffet again , anytime .

Staycation - Equarius Hotel // 1st June 2013

▲ Finally some back-dated happy news. Kick-started June with a staycation at Equarius Hotel . Honestly , it was one of the best staycations ever because we got upgraded to the room with a huge patio ! It was so ridiculously spacious that we could actually hold an outdoor party there . We had so much fun taking a buggy around the car park as a transport around RWS , hung out with the best buddies over snacks while embracing the peace at our patio . Equarius also brought luxury to a whole new level with a TV in the bathroom ! ^^ Nothing beats a quiet 24 hours with the illusion of being on a holiday .

▲ In-room dining was the only option for the lazy us and it wasn't too bad at all . After all, it's quite impossible to eat cheap in Sentosa . The cheese tart dessert was a freaking rip off at $18 for a tiny bite-size piece . It didn't even taste good enough to justify for the price we paid . Other than that , the mains were pretty decent .

P.S// Thank you Mr. B , for constantly pampering me with every little thing possible .

Love , Sheryl
