Second day in Taiwan was my favorite day of all because I spent the night on the mountains , in a humble 民宿 home-stay . There wasn't much to do there , just embracing what nature had to offer and chasing after flocks of sheep . Truly what a relaxing holiday should be , away from the hustle and bustle with a perfect weather and a view of the picturesque landscape .
- Well , the scenic view from our home-stay was damn amazing enough to me . I'm so glad I made the right choice to pick this 民宿 , couldn't be any happier to see the room kept so simple yet rustic . I especially love the wood interior !! The balcony was my favorite spot where we spent the night chilling out in the freezing weather , boozing on Taiwan beer & having hot piping beef rice for supper.
- Tried the marble soft drink (弹珠汽水) for the first time ! Bryan thinks I have no childhood at all because I had no idea this drink existed . But I really have to say ... its sooooo cooooool !!!
- We spent the entire afternoon at Green Green Grasslands (清境農場) wandering about with the sheep herds . The sheep herds were nothing like the words gentle , meek , peaceful and tame . They were the exact opposite of all the adjectives we used to describe them in school ! They were like little terrors chasing after you for food - not how I imagined them to be . But then again , how often do you actually get to be surrounded by so many herds of sheep in a vast grassland anyway ? There's just this indescribable feeling about being so carefree with them around .
- We had dinner at an intriguing concept restaurant , Carton King . As the name suggests , the environment and almost everything interior were made out of cardboard . It was such an experience sitting on a cardboard chair worrying through our dinner that it may collapse anytime . They were too detailed with all the furnishing , even our food / drinks were served in little carton boxes . Their set meals approx. >350 TWD (SGD$14) came with a carton drink and dessert as well . The food was really delish especially their rice , I couldn't make out what they mixed inside for it to taste so good ! We honestly had so much fun over dinner .

- Ambitiously took a sunrise tour to He Huan Shan (合歡山) at 3.20am hoping that we won't oversleep . Thankfully we didn't because it was such a rewarding trip up the mountains for the ultimate experience of braving 4 °c and watching sunrise all together . It was so amazing to watch the sunrise right before our eyes high up on the mountains ! We were dressed unprepared for the weather so cold , so we ended up seeking refuge back in the bus after every few minutes we got down . For anyone intending to visit 合歡山, you've been warned .
- Tour ended at 8amish and we took a stroll around the vicinity to discover so many little gems along the way ! Nothing like a good walk in the morning to spot a quaint candy house , lots of different pretty flowers and picture perfect spots for keepsakes .
