Hari Raya Public holiday , weeks back

Unlucky days are when you travel to 3 different places for Thai food but all are closed on a Public holiday . Still persistent on Thai cuisine for lunch , we eventually ended up at Golden mile . You can never go wrong with Thai food at Singapore's little Thailand but I guess it's just me that I personally disliked the highly raved Diandin Leluk Restaurant . The only memory I've got from dining there is feeling bloated from drinking too much iced water and the tom yum soup killing my taste buds for the rest of the dishes .

It was buddy Kel's  fantastically smart idea to take a walk along Robertson quay after the meal . I mean yes ,   it is one of Singapore's beautiful spot but just look at the unforgiving weather !

Expectation - Strolling by the river , taking your time to pick a cafe you're most comfortable in
Reality - Sweating under the sun , frustrated and wishes to hop into any cafes spotted .
True story .

Anyway , we picked Kith cafe for a drink , ( no cakes for sale , wtf  - my teabreak will never be complete without a slice of cake , sigh .) . I'm always trying my best to open up to new things so I skipped my habitual earl grey tea for some peanut butter chocolate milkshake drink and I regretted !!! Don't get me wrong , the milkshake did not taste horrible . But because its peanut butter , it did not quench my thirst under the hot sun . So much for moving out of my comfort zone , sigh . Anyway , we mono deal-ed the entire afternoon and its really comforting to be able to laze Monday afternoon away .

Rambles and rants aside , while walking back to the carpark I actually happened to see Swirls Bake Shop tucked in a corner ! My eyes gleamed with joy while the rest gave the wtf-are-we-gonna-eat-again face . Warning , these little yummy devils are not cheap at all . $3.95/regular cuppycake & $2.50/bite-sized cuppycake .  I could have eaten many decent meals with the amount of cuppycakes I bought . Such expensive cupcake to indulge in but [ you.pay.for.what.you.get ] , the cupcakes were so moist and fluffy . Not the prettiest cupcakes I've seen , but definitely one of the best I've tried .

love,
sheryl
